Lunch in a Karen garden restaurant, then eye to eye with Rothschild’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, feeding them by hand from the platform. Back at the hotel by late afternoon.

Day 3: North to Ol Pejeta

About 3.5 to 4 hours north through the central highlands, with comfort stops on the way and the equator crossing at Nanyuki. Lunch at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, a rest, then an afternoon game drive. Dinner overlooking the waterhole.

Day 4: Rhino and chimpanzees

A morning game drive for black rhino, lion and the Big Five. Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Kenya’s only place to see chimpanzees. A rest afternoon at camp, then an evening drive.

Day 5: The last northern white rhinos

Meet the northern white rhinos and their keepers with a conservancy ranger, and hear how the team is working to save the species. Afternoon at leisure or a final game drive, then a sundowner on the plains.
