Accessible Travel Kenya Team is Now Trained in First Aid and Basic Life Support by Amref
At Accessible Travel, your safety is just as important to us as your comfort and independence while exploring Kenya. That’s why we’re proud to share that our team has completed a First Aid and Basic Life Support training course delivered by Amref Health Africa, one of the continent’s most respected health organisations.
Why This Matters to You
Travelling with mobility challenges, chronic health conditions, or simply venturing into unfamiliar environments comes with its own set of considerations. Whether you’re navigating a gravel car park, spending a day on safari far from a hospital, or just enjoying a meal at one of our recommended accessible restaurants, it’s reassuring to know that the people guiding your journey are prepared to respond if something unexpected happens.

Our team can now confidently provide:
- Basic life support, including CPR and how to respond to choking or breathing emergencies
- First aid for common travel-related incidents, such as falls, cuts, burns, and allergic reactions
- Initial assessment and stabilisation while waiting for further medical help to arrive
- Calm, informed support for guests managing existing medical conditions during excursions

About Amref Health Africa
Amref Health Africa is Africa’s largest health development organisation, with decades of experience in community health, emergency response, and medical training across the continent. Having our team trained by Amref means we’re learning from people who understand both the medical fundamentals and the realities of providing care in the Kenyan context, from city centres to more remote safari locations.
What This Means for Your Trip
This training doesn’t replace the need for personal travel insurance, your own medications, or sensible precautions, those are still very much your responsibility. But it does mean that wherever we’re guiding you, whether it’s a step-free café in Karen or a day out on the savannah, you’re accompanied by people who have the knowledge and confidence to act quickly and appropriately if a medical situation arises.
We believe accessible travel should never mean compromising on safety. Investing in this training is one more way we’re working to make sure every guest, regardless of mobility or health needs, can explore Kenya with peace of mind.
If you have specific medical needs or concerns ahead of your trip, please don’t hesitate to let us know when booking. We’re always happy to talk through how we can best support you.
Access enabled by Accessible Travel — helping you explore Kenya with confidence, one accessible venue at a time.
