Day by day

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi

Accessible Travel Kenya’s team meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, at the aircraft door if you need airside assistance, and helps with immigration and luggage. A short transfer in the company’s ramp or swivel-seat van to the Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands. The afternoon is free to rest; your driver-guide briefs you on the days ahead.

Day 2: Nairobi’s best-loved day

A sunrise game drive in Nairobi National Park, with lion and rhino against the city skyline and breakfast in the park. At 11:00, the orphaned elephants at their mud bath at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nursery. Lunch in a Karen garden restaurant, then eye to eye with Rothschild’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, feeding them by hand from the platform.

Day 3: Down into the Rift Valley

About 2 hours by road, with a stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint on the escarpment. Lunch at Enashipai Resort and Spa, then a lakeside afternoon or the Maji Spa.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate

A boat ride among the hippos and fish eagles, giraffe and zebra on Crescent Island, then Hell’s Gate’s cliffs and gorge by vehicle.

Day 5: On to Lake Nakuru

About an hour and a half to Nakuru. Check in at the Sarova Woodlands, then an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park

A full day in the park: rhino, Rothschild’s giraffe, flamingos and pelicans, and the view from Baboon Cliff.

Day 7: To the Masai Mara

Through Narok with a lunch stop and rest breaks; this is one of the trip’s two long road days. Arrive at Sarova Mara Game Camp for a short evening drive.

Day 8: A full day on the plains

A long game drive with a picnic by the Mara River: lion, cheetah, elephant and, July to October, the Migration.

Day 9: The Mara at your pace

Morning and evening drives, a rest afternoon, and an optional dawn balloon or Maasai village visit.

Day 10: Back to Nairobi

A last early drive, then by road to Nairobi with lunch in Narok, to your hotel or the airport. Or fly from the Mara to Wilson in about 45 minutes.
