Three nights at Elsa’s Kopje, built into Mughwango Hill above Meru National Park, where Joy and George Adamson released Elsa the lioness. Game drives, guided walks, a night drive, catch-and-release fishing, sundowners and a bush meal are included. Flights from Nairobi take about an hour and are quoted when you book.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Meru
Fly from Wilson Airport to Meru National Park (about 1 hour) and transfer 5 minutes from Mughwango airstrip to the lodge. Lunch and an afternoon game drive.
Days 2–3: Meru National Park
Shared game drives morning and afternoon along Meru’s rivers and doum palms, a 2-hour guided walk, a night game drive, fishing with a guide, sundowners and a bush breakfast or lunch.
Day 4: Meru – Nairobi
Morning game drive, then fly back to Wilson Airport.

- A private vehicle (often easier for wheelchair users) costs USD 540 a day for 1–2 guests or USD 300 a day for 3–4 guests; families of 5 or more with children aged 5–12 get one free on request
Good to know
- Prices are per person sharing, in USD, for non-residents
- Children under 12 sharing with two adults stay free at the camp; teenagers 12–17 sharing with two adults pay 25% of the adult rate. Park or conservancy fees and flights still apply (flights 75% for children 2–11)
- Honeymooners: outside July–October and the festive season, the bride or partner pays half the lodge rate on stays of 3 nights or more (marriage certificate under 6 months old needed)
- Bags on light aircraft are limited to 15 kg per person in soft bags
