Fly to Arusha and drive with your own guide to Tarangire, known for its big elephant herds and baobabs, for two nights at Elephant Springs. Then climb to the rim of Ngorongoro for two nights at Lion’s Paw, 15 minutes from the road down to the crater floor.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Tarangire
Fly from Wilson Airport to Arusha. Your driver-guide meets you for the drive of about two hours to Tarangire, with a game drive on the way to Elephant Springs.

Day 2: Tarangire
Morning and afternoon game drives along the Tarangire river.

Day 3: Tarangire – Ngorongoro
Drive to the Ngorongoro highlands and Lion’s Paw on the eastern crater rim.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
A full day on the crater floor with a picnic lunch, looking for lions, black rhino, buffalo and flamingos.

Day 5: Ngorongoro – Nairobi
Drive back to Arusha (about three hours) and fly to Nairobi.

Elephant Springs has new two-bedroom villas that suit a guest travelling with a carer (quoted on request)
Children aged 5–14 sharing with adults pay 50% of the camp rate; under 5 stay free
24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January add USD 40 per person per night
Bags on Safarilink are limited to 15 kg per person in soft bags
Park, concession and Ngorongoro fees are based on the latest published figures and are confirmed at booking; if the parks change their fees, the price changes with them

Travelling with access needs? Light aircraft board by steps; we arrange an aisle chair or assisted boarding and check that your mobility equipment can fly. Safari vehicles in Tanzania are standard 4x4s with steps, so tell us how you transfer and we will plan it with the camp.
