A small, family-owned lodge set in six acres of gardens in Karatu, just twenty minutes from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate, a natural base for Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Tarangire and the Serengeti. Accommodation is in single-storey en-suite chalets, rooms, family rooms and a two-bedroom cottage, all at ground level with no stairs or lifts to negotiate.
The restaurant serves European and African dishes using produce from the lodge’s own organic farm, with halal and vegetarian options and dietary requirements catered for on prior notice. There’s an outdoor pool with a sun terrace, gardens alive with birdlife, and an Irish bar, one of the very few in Africa.
